If you have a question about this talk, please contact Grigorios Mingas. Progressive point sampling is a specific type of the Progressive Image Transmission (PIT) technique. It is often used to allow the receiver to make efficient use of the available bandwidth by accessing the target image in an iterative sampling/reconstructing manner. Such techniques identify significant information to access first, and therefore achieve a better reconstruction quality vs. bandwidth ratio. Inspired by the significant reduction of pixels required due to progressive point sampling, we are intereted in applying such concept to deal with intermediate image data existing in the image processing system. This talk will show some simulation results of the initial attempt of applying this concept to the accessing of image data from external DRAM . A discussion of the impact and potential of the technique in reducing the cost of memory accessing will be given. This talk is part of the CAS Talks series. This talk is included in these lists:
