The end of Moore’s Law necessitates specialized processing for improved performance and efficiency. Specialization is challenging for a hyperscale datacenter infrastructure. In this talk, I will describe a paradigm shift for large-scale computing, which is incorporating massive quantities of reconfigurable hardware into the cloud. I will also cover the challenges and research opportunities associated with this new hyperscale architecture.
