According to Microsoft Academic Conference Rankings, PPoPP (parallel programming) and HPCA (hardware architecture) rank #2 and #7 in respective tracks among computer engineering conferences. These conferences showcase some novel ideas from academia and industry for managing parallelism both at a programmer-level with better languages/compilers/runtimes and at a hardware-level through better architectures. I will discuss a few interesting papers from the conference that may be of general interest to the group and also to those who are interested in parallel programming. I will then have a short debate on what we could do to get FPGA -interest papers in these conferences.
