Model Predictive Control (MPC) is an advanced control method that uses mathematical model of the plant in order to predict the behaviour of the system and apply optimal input. The necessity of solving an optimization problem at each sampling instance applies some restrictions on application scope of MPC for fast dynamics embedded applications. Understanding time, energy and silicon usage trade-offs is important for efficient implementation of real time optimization solvers on hardware platforms. This talk aims to discuss some of those trade-offs and propose ways of dealing with them in systematic way. This talk is part of the CAS Talks series. This talk is included in these lists:
